This is second time but I enjoy those time with my friends. There is two spots one is elementary and another is secondary. Its open only winter season for skiing. Equipment and transportation provide some shop nearest to resorts. Cost about equipment and ticket 50000won.
This is Bears Town ski resort. About 90 minutes outside Seoul. It's one of the nearest ski resorts from the city. Facilities are top notch, there are personnel around the resort, ski rental rates are fare and its cheap to ski here than elsewhere. Different slopes for different levels. Worth a visit
I spent 3 days in bears town (jan 2 - jan 4). I took a shuttle bus from city hall in the morning; bus ride was approximately 1 hour. Bus was warm and bus staff were very nice. Coming from Australia and not being korean, I speak no korean but my stay was amazing due to the staff at the resort. Firstly, skiwear hire staff (father and son) were really helpful and tried their best to answer all the silly questions I had. They were also really nice in trying to colour coordinate my skiwear (haha). Secondly, being new to snowboarding, I spend the majority of my time on the family slope. Even though the ski lift staff knew very little English, they made every effort to speak to me, once they recognised me from going up and down the lift on the second day by using google translate (haha). I would definitely go back again due to this great initial experience.
A family-friendly resort one hour far from Seoul. Possibility to rent clothes, ski and buy ski pass in the shops down the station. Ski pass package for the half day. Beginner skiers and more advanced skiers are welcomed. There is a sledging area. Ideal to change your mind even if the snow cannons remind us that the environment is not very "natural"
Great for first time skiers. There are discounts on their website when you take their shuttle bus. They don't ask for your number when you book on their English website but it is best to put your mobile number (if you have) at the hotel detail so that the bus driver can contact you in case he can't find you at pick up location. For some reasons the driver couldn't find me in front of Lotte Mart at Jamsil so he left. I called the bus operator while he was heading out of Seoul and I asked why he didn't call me then realized they don't have my number. Anyway they paid for the taxi for me to catch up with the bus so it was alright.
Our family had very great experience with snow covered ground with the guide of local Korean instructor...just to name miss Mini Kimhee with her assistant Kevin teaching 7 of us on snow skiing for the first time. We are looking forward to repeating visit to Bears Town Resort.
